About Us
Clann Resource Centre
Clann is a family was set up in December 2002 with a project which enables the community to meet its common goals and changing needs by treating everyone equally while re-specting differences and working in an inclusive and creative way.
The needs are outlined in a three year work plan. The Centre is managed by a voluntary committee and there are three full time staff who run the centre. The work of the Centre encompasses community and family support.

I also set up appointments with the Counsellors/play therapy for clients and regularly meet with the Counsellors Part of my role is also to meet with clients if required. Overall like all the staff we are here for the community .
BARRY DILLON, Youth Development Worker
Our development worker supports a number of projects through community development principles. Working alongside a broad range of groups in the community, projects include a drop in service within the Oughterard youth cafe, youth interest and hobby groups and youth clubs, schools projects with both primary and secondary schools, a mens shed project, the president’s award with Transition year students in St. Paul’s Secondary school and more recently a forest school and outdoor group. The development worker supports a large number of volunteers within the community and participates in many other community events and activities.
HELEN CRONNELLY, Community Development Worker
"Community development is a holistic approach grounded in principles of empowerment, humans rights, inclusion, social justice, self-determination and collective action" (Kenny 2007). Helen, our Community Development worker, supports groups within the community with these principles in mind. Clann Family Resource Centre has a cradle to the grave approach, meaning all members of the community are thought od and included in various projects and groups we assist. CRC supports older people as well as families and young people. We engage in numerous initiatives, working groups, events and activities within the community. Some of the groups Helen supports are Corrib Baby & Todler, Befriending Programme, Oughterard Seniors Citizens... If you have an idea of a group, a project or issue you feel we can assist you with, please feel free to contact us!
PATRICIA NAUGHTON, Administrator
Our administrator is responsible for preparing accounts, budgeting and managing financial information. She keeps track of the financial records, manages data in spreadsheets and reports and helps maintain the budget plan.
