HELEN CRONNELLY, Community Development Worker
"Community development is a holistic approach grounded in principles of empowerment, humans rights, inclusion, social justice, self-determination and collective action" (Kenny 2007). Helen, our Community Development worker, supports groups within the community with these principles in mind. Clann Family Resource Centre has a cradle to the grave approach, meaning all members of the community are thought od and included in various projects and groups we assist. CRC supports older people as well as families and young people. We engage in numerous initiatives, working groups, events and activities within the community. Some of the groups Helen supports are Corrib Baby & Todler, Befriending Programme, Oughterard Seniors Citizens... If you have an idea of a group, a project or issue you feel we can assist you with, please feel free to contact us!
